The PCO Board's obligation to its members is to govern with a style that emphasizes outward vision, encourages a diversity of viewpoints; and provides strategic leadership, collective decisions, and future focus.
Each year PCO's Board has five open seats to serve our mission and membership. The Board has two components: an Advisory Board and a Managing Board. On the ballot you will find nominees for both. Managing board members cannot be certified by PCO nor have other potential conflicts of interest. Because PCO values the leadership of its certified members, these individuals and others with potential conflicts of interest can be nominated for the Advisory board.
You will note that there are five openings and five nominees on the ballot. In the past, members have indicated a reluctance to vote because they do not know the candidates nor are they familiar with PCO's leadership needs. In recent years, the Board has responded by seeking to put together a slate of well-qualified applicants that balance the talents and expertise of the continuing board members and then asked the membership to confirm that selection. Your vote remains critical in this process.
