Thanks for your interest in PCO’s Business Membership!

Business membership is primarily for those selling and marketing input material products to organic farmers and processors. Inputs are the materials used on organic operations (e.g. fertilizers, pest control products, livestock healthcare materials, food additives, processing aids, cleaners/sanitizers, etc.).

  • Business Membership is designed for:
    • Input manufacturers who want to get their products approved by PCO for use by certified organic operations.
    • Input sales staff who want to sell input materials to certified organic clients.
    • Organic consultants or other professionals who want to know more about specific inputs allowed for organic use.
    • Non-PCO certified operations who want access to PCO’s approved input list.

Business Membership is $1000. Membership runs from January to December each calendar year and membership renewal occurs on an annual basis.

Business membership benefits include:

  • An organic cotton, reusable produce bag - show your PCO pride when you shop!
  • Organic Matters – our quarterly newsletter packed with all the latest organic news and research
  • 10% discount on display ads as well as a free 30-word classified ad in each issue of Organic Matters.
    • Please refer to our Advertising Page for more details.
  • Monthly eNewsletter subscription
  • PCO’s annual Approved Material List
  • Ability to request that PCO review material inputs for compliance with NOP regulations.
    • Rate is dependent on material formulation, please reference the Membership Fee Schedule for costs.
    • Opportunity to have your approved material(s) listed in the PCO Approved Material List. This publication is distributed to certified operations and other organic certifiers.
    • Once signed up you can request reviews on this webpage.
  • Webportal access to your file management system. This portal will show a letter containing all of the inputs that PCO has already reviewed for the manufacturer, with intended uses and the review decisions.

Notes about PCO input material reviews:

  • PCO material review determinations are not to be used for marketing purposes. PCO name and logo may not be used in any advertising or promotional materials for any product.
  • PCO approval is not a formal endorsement of any product.
  • PCO approved input materials are not certified and should not be represented as “certified” or “certified organic.” The USDA Organic Seal cannot be used to indicate product approval. Organic certification is a separate process and is only for agricultural products. For more information about organic certification go here.
  • PCO approved input materials are only approved for the use listed.
  • PCO approved input materials are allowed to be used by operations certified by PCO. Operations certified with other agencies should contact their certification offices prior to use.
  • PCO approval of input materials is subject to change at any time.
  • PCO reviews are valid for at least 5 years. Business members who want to have their products re-reviewed may be responsible for the applicable review costs.
  • Input manufacturers should immediately notify PCO of any changes made to approved products.
  • Product names and manufacturer names that will be published must match the names on the actual product label and other documents.
  • PCO reviews are considered confidential, see details here.
