Are you a manufacturer selling products to organic farmers and processors?

PCO reviews material inputs, such as cleaners & sanitizers, livestock health care products, pest and disease control products, processing aids etc. for our clients and members to determine whether their use is in compliance with the requirements of the National Organic Program, and the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Materials, as listed at 21 CFR 205. There is no additional review fee for our certified clients.

In order to complete our compliance reviews, we will request product labels / SDS and possibly GMO statements and other documentation required to document that your product meets the requirements as an allowed input. All ingredient information is kept strictly confidential and is for our compliance review purposes only. Our review determinations are shared with other accredited certifiers that subscribe to our review service.

Once we have reviewed a material and determined whether or not it is in compliance, our client will be notified, and the material may be added to our published list of Approved Materials.

Our compliance determinations are not to be used for your business marketing purposes, and manufacturers are prohibited form using the PCO or USDA Organic Seal to indicate product approval.

Business membership

Manufacturers that join PCO as a business member may request up to 2 materials to be reviewed for compliance annually, with additional compliance reviews available for a fee. This business membership has been useful to manufacturers formulating products to be in compliance.

Whereas our review determination are not to be used for marketing purposes, the Organic Material Review Institute does offer review services specifically for marketing purposes.
